What is a Sabani?

A traditional sailboat built on generations of Okinawan sea wisdom

帆を張るサバニ

A time-honored Okinawan boat, powered by sail and oar

The sabani is a wooden sailboat long used by Okinawan fishermen. It glides across the water under full sail, and when the wind rests, everyone on board pulls together at the oars. No engine—just human hands and nature's power, the way people have crossed these seas for generations.

At Ocean Link Mimi, we guide you around the beautiful waters of Ishigaki aboard this traditional sabani. Feel the rush of catching the wind, the shared rhythm of rowing together, and the quiet where only waves and wind remain.

Because every tour is a fully private charter for a single group, your family, partner, or friends can enjoy the sea entirely to yourselves.
